Abken Airport 1947


This aerial view of Abken Airport from the southeast shows the main hangar and attached office and classrooms along with the first set of four T-hangars.  

Abken's twin-engine Cessna Bobcat can be seen at the row at the top; it's the third from the left.  The other three are Abken's surplus Vultee  BT-13 Valiant trainers.  The one on the left is wingless; it was doubtlessly cannibalized for parts.  The buildings at the top and left are from the original dairy farm.
